The Games Library
The Games Library is a social enterprise run as a cooperative by young adults graduating from the Campus Life program in 2024.
It is at LG Speech Therapy clinic in Underwood, Queensland. This year, the young men are organising, cataloguing and labelling the resources. In 2025, the library will open as a subscription service. You will be able to borrow items and return them after a period, for a fee. You will also be able to visit on Thursdays between 10am and 2pm to play games with friends in a social club. |
This social enterprise is thanks to the generosity of LeeAnne Nelson, Speech Pathologist and owner of LG Speech Therapy clinic. LeeAnne has provided therapy to many of the Campus Life participants over twenty years privately and at the program. She has always wanted to make her many speech therapy games, books and teaching resources available for people to borrow but never had the time to devote to organising this to happen. It was her idea to have a subscription service, a hub for game playing together and potential paid work for the young adults she worked with. Together with Inclusive Supports the Games Library will offer paid employment through profit-sharing for young people with disability.
